(1) Blessed Title: «العَالِم» — The Knower

Had it not been for the grace and mercy of Allah upon you, a group among them would have intended to mislead you. But they mislead no one except themselves, and they cannot harm you in any way. Allah has revealed to you the Book and wisdom and has taught you what you did not know. The grace of Allah upon you has always been great.

Surah al-Nisa, Verse 113

Imam al-Ridha (عليه السلام):

Allah grants His prophets and Imams divine assistance and gives them from His hidden treasures of knowledge and wisdom that which He does not give to others.

(2) Blessed Title: «اَلْحَاكِمُ» — The Judge

But no, by your Lord! They will not truly believe until they make you the judge in their disputes, then find no discomfort in their hearts regarding your judgment and submit completely.

Surah al-Nisa, Verse 65

Imam al-Sadiq (عليه السلام), narrated from Abdullah al-Kahili:

If a people worship Allah alone without associating partners with Him, establish prayer, give zakat, perform Hajj, and fast during Ramadan, but then say regarding something Allah or the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله) did, “Why did He not do otherwise?” they would, because of that, become polytheists.

Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal and last of the prophets. Allah has knowledge of all things.

Surah al-Ahzab

The Messenger of Allah

My example among the prophets is like a man who built a house and completed and beautified it except for the place of one brick. I am the place of that brick, and through me the line of prophets was completed.(Also narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim.)

Surah al-Nahl, Verses 121–122

Imam al-Baqir (عليه السلام):

Remain steadfast as you have been commanded, along with those who have turned to Allah with you. Do not transgress. Indeed, He sees all that you do.

Surah Hud, Verse 112

The Messenger of Allah

The Prophet said: “Surah Hud made me grow old.” He was asked which part of Surah Hud caused this, and he replied: The words of Allah, “Remain steadfast as you have been commanded.”

Surah al-Baqarah, Verse 119

The Messenger of Allah

The first worship of Allah is to know Him ... then to believe in me and acknowledge that Allah the Exalted sent me to all people as a bearer of good news and a warner.

(25) Blessed Title: «اَلْعَزِيزُ» — The Honored

Certainly, a Messenger has come to you from among yourselves, and your suffering is difficult for him.

Surah al-Tawbah, Verse 128

Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (عليه السلام):

Allah Almighty bestowed His favor upon you through Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله), sending him to you as a Messenger from among yourselves. The Messenger sent to you was one of you and spoke your language, teaching you the Book, wisdom, and the Sunnah.

(26) Blessed Title: «اَلْقَوِيُّ» — The Strong

Possessing great strength and holding an honored position with the Lord of the Throne.

Surah al-Takwir, Verse 20

Narrated regarding the verse «

When this verse was revealed, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله) asked Jibra’il (عليه السلام): “Did any part of this mercy reach you?” He replied: “Yes. I used to fear the outcome of my affair, but through you I gained security when Allah praised me with the words: ‘Possessing strength and holding an honored position with the Lord of the Throne.’”

(27) Blessed Title: «اَلْمُسْتَغْفِرُ» — The Seeker of Forgiveness

Know that there is no deity except Allah, and seek forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women.

Surah Muhammad, Verse 19

(28) Blessed Title: «اَلْمُصَلِّي» — The One Who Prays

Indeed, We have granted you al-Kawthar. So pray to your Lord and sacrifice. Surely, it is your enemy who will be cut off.

Surah al-Kawthar

(29) Blessed Title: «اَلْمُصَدِّقُ» — The Confirmer

Believe in what I have revealed, confirming that which is already with you, and do not be the first to reject it.

Surah al-Baqarah, Verse 41

Imam Hasan al-Askari (عليه السلام):

The example of this in your book—the book of the Jews—is that Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله), the Prophet, is the master of the first and the last, supported by the master of the successors, Ali (عليه السلام).

We certainly know that your heart becomes distressed by what they say. So glorify your Lord with praise and be among those who prostrate.

Surah al-Hijr, Verses 97–98

Imam al-Sadiq (عليه السلام):

Allah Almighty sent Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله) and commanded him to be patient and gentle. When his heart became distressed, Allah revealed to him: “We certainly know that your heart becomes distressed by what they say.”

The Messenger of Allah

It was not revealed to me that I should gather wealth and become one of the merchants. Rather, it was revealed to me: “Glorify your Lord with praise, be among those who prostrate, and worship your Lord until certainty comes to you.”
