Imam Ali was the cousin and close companion of Prophet Muhammad, and one of the most respected figures in Islamic history. Muslims remember him not only for his knowledge and courage, but also for his deep commitment to justice, humility, and care for the vulnerable.

 

On a day like this, Prophet Muhammad raised the hand of Imam Ali and declared him as a guide and leader for the Muslim community after him. This day is known as the Day of Ghadir.

 

Imam Ali believed that leadership was a responsibility, not a privilege. He taught that every person should be treated with dignity, regardless of their background, faith, or social status. In a famous instruction to a governor, Imam Ali reminded him that people are either “your brothers in faith or your equals in humanity.”
